a scrummaster should make things easier, sometimes the ppl that work on the team are busy doing what they are good at, scrum master makes sure they are properly collaborating with their team mates.

Do they work together hand in hand on the same platform or Scrum Master reports to Pdt Owner hence Pdt Owner has the overall ownership and authority in the team?
The Product Owner is the person in charge of what gets built and in what order (the backlog). The Scrum Master makes sure everyone is using Scrum correctly, facilitates the meetings, and makes sure any impediments are identified and removed when possible.
Technically they’re both important roles, and should work closely together, but if you had to allocate a rank, the Product Owner would be at the top.
